A friend had a similar problem, Found out he had the front calipers on wrong right and left causing the bleed valve not to be completely at the top causing air pocket.

Just checked mine the bleed screws are outboard on both.

Ran into this before my problem was the calipers were on the wrong side the bleed screws were on top but there was a small void, and not letting all the air out.Switched calipers around and the bleed screws were at the very top.Bled and problem solved.

Had this problem was a head scratcher your right the calipers were upside down easy mistake!
