    Front Drag tires!????

Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R in a 26x6.0 is what I run. Love them.

**600hp sbm block limit? Or is it bs!!**

I also drive the **** out of my Dart. It sees 3-4k miles every summer now here in Detroit, and now that I have it shaken down and proper wheels and tires on it, it will be seeing a lot more track time along with the normal street beatings that I put on the little 390.

Quench Vs Piston To Head Clearance

The Magnum R/T heads are a good quench head with a flat top piston set at zero deck. That's what I'm running in my stroker right now.

    318 and 10's

A half fill, proper cooling, and a good balance go a long way. I'm running one of those "junk" Magnum blocks that apparently turn into a grenade at 600hp, but I've put WAY more than 600 on spray through it already, and that was while pushing a 5,000lb 4x4 truck into the 12's before it went...

    LOL! I figured as much.

    318 and 10's

The only reason you don't see them is because people don't build them too often. A 390 is virtually the same engine as a 408. Especially the Magnum headed ones. (Which I'm running). My junk went high 12's on a 2.76 open diff, street radials, and no spray with a 390, and I drive it to the track...

    318 and 10's

I think this whole discussion is about a stock stroke 318, though. A 4" stroked 318 is a 390, and making power on a 4" stroke is stupid easy.

    318 and 10's

Should I even bother asking how long the stroke is? Mine says that too, but that don't make it true. :jocolor:

    318 and 10's

LOL!!!! My block still says 318 on the side. I can claim it's a 318, right?

    318 and 10's

Nice! I like my 904, but 4.56 gears are pretty deep for street driving. I guess it all depends on what you can tolerate, and what you like.

    318 and 10's

    I hate that feeling!

    318 and 10's

Nice! Gears? Transmission? What are you running there? I'm running a 904 with 3.23 gears behind a 390 with 11:1 compression and a nitrous friendly cam, and I expect it to go mid-high 11's on motor.

    318 and 10's

    What does the car weigh?
  17. rnaz

    thinking about nitrous.....with this cam.

A nitrous controller would be the best way to control timing and when to start/stop the flow of it too.
  18. rnaz

    thinking about nitrous.....with this cam.

It ran a high 12 on an open diff with 2.76 gears and street tires launching soft. I have 3.23's and a sure grip now. It should go a low 12-high 11.
  19. rnaz

    thinking about nitrous.....with this cam.

It will work pretty well, but you're going to have to creep up on the spray. That's a lot of cylinder pressure to be putting through your head gaskets and bolts/studs. I'm running 11:1 in my 390, but I kept the LSA down to 114 degrees to bleed off some pressure. It is still really healthy off...

**600hp sbm block limit? Or is it bs!!**

Yeah, man! I went with forged internals to take the abuse of nitrous, but if I wanted to build a budget stroker, I wouldn't be afraid of using a cast crank now. LOL!

**600hp sbm block limit? Or is it bs!!**

    Definitely not a terrible idea.

Ever been a hair from a lower second and cant get it ?

If it's stumbling on the hit, you may be giving it too much fuel from the accelerator pump (not enough is a possibility too). You can play with the adjustments of it and see if that goes away. Edit: I just read the post about the bog when you let go of the brake. You may need more converter if...

**600hp sbm block limit? Or is it bs!!**

I ran a half fill in mine, and I'm not worried about it in the least. I drive it in on the street all the time, and it stays cool with the Champion radiator and a flex fan.

**600hp sbm block limit? Or is it bs!!**

That's because most of the people shooting their big mouths off have never actually built anything that makes real power, and they're nothing more than armchair quarterbacks that run around talking about that time they had a "Hemi 440 six pack Challenger with a 3/4 race cam that pulled the...

No sweat. I have no respect for those types, so I like to poke at them any chance i get.

i True. I dressed my Magnum based stroker up some when I put it into my Dart though. I wanted the best of both worlds.

In the narrow minded world of ignorance, yes. It does mean that. LOL!! I don't like the plastic covers though.
