    66 Dart Owners thread

I have a 360 with TTI headers and I know I'm going to have to do some fabricating with my steering column. I just wasn't sure if the pitman arm or idler arm were the same. Does anyone have alignment specs once it's changed over. Thanks Rod

    66 Dart Owners thread

I have a 66 Dart with manual steering. Years ago I bought a new power steering box and pump along with hoses to do a conversion. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if any of my steering links will need to be changed? I'm thinking I might tackle that as a winter project. Thanks. Rod

The sellability of our early “A” body cars

Guys I appreciate all your thoughts and suggestions. I've thought about this all week and have come to the decision to put the Dart up for sale. It needs to belong to someone that will drive it. Many of you have suggested that I should drive it to the golf course. The issues with that are that...

The sellability of our early “A” body cars

RegularJay. The reason i dont drive it is because i love playing golf so that takes most of my weekday time. On weekends to keep peace in the family i travel to the beach so my wife can enjoy sun and sand. I myself would rather stay home on weekends but its something she really enjoys. This...

The sellability of our early “A” body cars

I was wondering, is there any demand for our early “A” body cars. I know there are for the Chevy Nova II, the Camera’s and the Ford Mustangs. But what about the mopars? I am considering the possibility of selling my 66 Dart. I did a major resto mod but it’s a shame that it basically just sits...

    Early A-Bodies

I go to 1 maybe 2 car shows a year. I just went to my first show this year 2 weeks ago. An exotic, classic, muscle car show held at a mansion. Was a very different show. The exotic cats were parked all around the frt of the mansion, classics were on the side and the muscle cars were in the rear...

    Early Dart Headliner Install Question

I did the liner in my 66 Dart and there was no such thing on mine. Good luck with your install. Take your time and use plenty of glue. I was very happy with my final results. I can’t say it was easy but not nearly as hard as some make it sound. Rod

I have a 66 Dart Small Block that I need to pull the manual steering box off and replace it with a Power steering box. Yes I m getting to old to fight that manual steering. I was wondering if anyone had pulled a box off that had TTI headers. It looks like a very tight fit and I really dont want...

    66 Dart Gas Cap

Thanks for the reply’s. I ran the fuel line up the inside of the passenger side frame rail. I think the worse issue is that the header on that side is about 2.5” below the gas line at the collector and then as it runs up inside the engine compartment where it gets to much heat from the header...

    66 Dart Gas Cap

I’ve already put on an insulator pad under the carb plus I’ve added a spacer. It’s not a stock setup as I’ve replaced all fuel lines and I’m thinking one of the issues is that the return line in the system creates pressure when dumped back into the tank. I run a Mallory electric fuel pump with a...

    66 Dart Gas Cap

Should the Gas cap on a 66 dart be a vented cap? My reason for asking is I am trying to trouble shoot a problem that I have after I drive the car and then it sits for 5 minutes and on restart it seems to flood or be vapor locked. Thanks Rod

Gas strut for trunk. Help needed

Mopar Tim, I remember seeing that before but couldnt remember who did it. What it is under so I can look it up. Also do you know the weight of the trunk deck. If I remember your struts are located at a different place inside the trunk. Thanks Rod

Gas strut for trunk. Help needed

I did the struts to mine because it looks cleaner in my opinion, it removes some weight, and I dont have to worry about greasing the slides on the track for the spring rods. However if I cant find the right strut I may have to go back which could be a problem because when I did the tub in the...

Gas strut for trunk. Help needed

I need to find a gas strut that will hold the weight of my trunk deck lid. That one that on there now worked for about 2 days but never had enough pressure to push up and it would barely hold it in place. It's a cheap ebay style. I'm attaching pics of it with this post. From the center of the...

    28" tires possible?!

On my 66 Dart I run a 28x10-15 racing slick. I am using a 10” wide wheel with a 6” back space. I had to relocate the springs and do a mini tub. Not a lot of cost involved but there is a lot of labor when doing all this. Rod

    speedometer cable protection from heat

fklskv, Is your B&M cable made of something other then the plastic coating thats used on every other cable? I searched on summit and didnt find anything other then the plastic casing style. Also do you have any pics of where and how close your cable runs to the headers? Mine is going to run...

    speedometer cable protection from heat

Im working on my 66 Dart. I have TCI headers on my small block and was wondering what others have done to protect the cable from being burnt by the headers. 1965 Barracuda Body Parts

ok, thanks. That answers a lot of my questions. Guess these cars when you are in the east are not worth spending much time on. Its a shame as the car doesnt look that bad but I dont want to spend time making custom panels. Usually used parts round here are as bad as the parts that need...
