I've had a 4 post for 11 years and I love it. I would highly recommend getting the jack unit too. I didn't buy it right away when bought the hoist and it was a pain in the butt jacking the car up to get the wheels off using bottle jacks. The jack unit makes it so easy to get the wheels off...

Bought a Direct-lift 11 years ago. Best tool I have ever purchased. Turned my 2 car garage into a 3 car garage with some mods to the garage door and opener. Saved me a ton in storage and repair costs that I wouldn't be able to do with the car on jacks.

Yes you can take them off to wash. They are held on with velcro. Anything Maguire's will be good quality IMO.
