You can use a cherry picker to remove the engine without removing the hood in a car (A body) by removing the Head and manifolds first. Then use the head bolt holes with shorter 7/16 bolts and a chain on your cherry picker! To remove the entire assembled engine, the hood will have to come off...

Why do some gear drives have only one idler and some have 2 idlers? Do you have a Parts list for those parts you have used in this install? Obviously, you modified the Top gear to be a one bolt with the drive pin for the Slant 6 cam.

I have found that if the slant 6 is attached to any mechanical conveyance the values go up.. Welder, water pump, combine harvester, A body car etc.:)

I used both the VC and Oil Pan Gaskets that they sold. Gave them a try and no bueno. I hope someone will be able to make the R Version of the fel-pro Valve cover gasket again. Those are nice and can be reused many times I went back to standard gaskets.

Did you put all those bolt ons and cam without woking on upsizing valves ander doing port work? If so you are leaving a lot on the table. Exhaust recommendations others share is good. Join the headpipes about 18" or so behind the transmission crossmember.
