passed the transmission pan is a filter against the passenger side frame wall. i cant seem to find out what it is and where to get a replacement... any ides??? im pretty sure its an inline fuel filter but i cant find any filters with the inlet and outlet pipes...

Officially saying a huge thanks to nm9stheham for the info that got me doing my own research. Turns out I just needed to turn in a screw like 3 turns to bring the idle up! Were all good now!!

Found out after they rebuilt the whole motor and put it back in my 76, I was driving for almost a year on 5 spun bearings and the last bearing spun when I took that drive and overheated the motor.

They pulled the motor today and its now getting machined. Case closed.

Found out knocks CAN come and go cause the way the bearing was spun, it only sometimes knocks. Regardless, a rebuild is in order!

Does the pump Have anything in it that could be shaved down? I thought it was designed to have minimal moving parts.

They were inside of the oil filter in the top holes. I would post a pic but I already threw the shavings away. I'm currently sitting in the position where my car is on the jack with no oil and wondering if I should even put more oil in. I bought 40 weight, zinc and oil stabilizer for this oil...

Yeah the magnet collected them easily and they were definitely steel cause they even had little blue and yellow tint from heat.

So I did the oil change and ran a magnet through the oil to see if I got anything and I couldn't see even a fragment BUT when I took off the oil filter, there were 2 centimeters long pieces of metal that were paper thin. What does that mean?? Could it be shavings from the oil pump or shavings...
