    SS/B Barracuda project

The steel on the door I was shown was paper thin. The paint looked thicker than the steel and very rusty orange inside. Very convincing to me of acid dipped parts. The owner of the car was particularly careful while opening and closing the door when showing me the metal thickness. The door...

Original Super Stock HEMI Dart LO23

Great photos Dave, I really like the late 60s vibe of the lettering on the S&K Dart. Avenger & 642 are particularly psychedelic. Reminds me of a Scooby doo or Tommy James style font. Love the paint jobs on many of these cars.

    Steering column clearance to headers

The first picture above of #3 tube gives you an idea of how it can't go together very far out of place frt to rear. Headers to torsion bars and steering box won't let you go far out of spec side to side. It really only fits in a very precise spot when using stock style mounts because of the...

    Steering column clearance to headers

Bob I relied on the transmission mount to locate engine front to rear. I used the 73 up spool type trans crossmember with the urethane inserts for a firmer or more stable mounting. Mostly for how they help keep the clutch linkage more precise. As the pictures show rear of block is only about an...

    Steering column clearance to headers

I went out and measured the engine location on my homebuilt k-frame. Surprisingly it is the same as shown in this photo I found while looking for the tti spec's. I believe this photo must be the guide for engine placement using the tti headers? There really isn't any room for much deviation...

    Steering column clearance to headers

I probably should have mentioned I built this frame before Tti was an option so it may not be to their specs.

    #3 5 & 7 before moving steering box.

    Steering column clearance to headers

I had to move the steering box closer to the framerail using hooker headers. It was due to cyl#5 tube preventing the factory coupler from rotating. No7 tube has about 1/2" clearance to the steering column pipe. Column pipe has 1/8" clearance to the head/valve cover back toward the firewall with...

What PARTS did Hurst and Chrysler put in the Super Stock Barracuda & Dart not in other factory cars

Gonna be a long list. Acid dipped doors with seatbelt lifted lightweight corning glass.

    Super stock seats

Nice of you to confirm the seats were folding lightweight. Lots of conflicting info on many details like this out there being passed around. Would you happen to have a picture of one of your seats flopped over for a view of how the risers mount? Thanks for joining in. I'm sure Im speaking for...

    Super stock seats

The Gary ball seats I seen looked like a replacement seat that are made to fit a jeep. He makes new covers for them to mimick the super stock seats and can supply tracks and risers which my friend purchased also with the seats. He wanted the tracks more than concerned with originality. He was...

    SS/B Barracuda project

It appears the SS Dana's were one off as well being 30 spline axles rather than the 23 or later 35. One off rotors were on the front.

    SS/B Barracuda project

Stefan from what I can tell what I posted is only partially correct. To get a better grasp on the Dana axles used in Chryslers you need to look up the Spicer BOM list. You can compare the BOM #s to get the axle part #s and lengths, splines and dates. Chrysler went back and forth between the...

    SS/B Barracuda project

The direct connection Dana widths were 52.5 & 44.5 These were 35 spline power-locs and MW axles The 52.5 came with a 5.12:1 ratio The 44.5 came with a 5.38:1 ratio Axle lengths for the 52.5 27.062 right 28.437 left Axle lengths for the 44.5 23.062 right 24.437 left

    SS/B Barracuda project

The way I understand Dana's were done is this... 66-69= 23 spline. I believe this was because use of the trac-loc 70-71= 30 spline this is with the power loc limited slip The direct connection race Dana's had the MW 35 spline axles. I am not sure but There may have been some 35 spline axles in...

    SS/B Barracuda project

The original B body Dana's were introduced with stock type 30 spline axle shafts. The 35 spline axles came in the later wider B&E bodies. The over the counter 44" (prostock) Dana's were 35 spline with MW axles with knurled 3" studs pressed in.
