I right there with ya Rob getting it done the cheap old way to this day. Every Mopar racer should have the old engine and chassis manuals.

I know this will give away my Mopar dinosaur status but I still look at caltrac's the same way I see Schumacher's and most of the other modern Mopar suppliers. Yes they work. Yes there expensive. Yes there businesses are helping a lot of Mopar guys. No I never used any of there parts...

If I was using a truck Dana without provisions for a pinion snubber and on a budget like yourself. My approach to control differential wind up would be some home made traction bars. The way I see it you can make them a couple different ways. Copy the cal tracks. Build some slapper bars...

The Hemi A-bodies springs were built for 3100 lbs. Looking at that drawing of the caltrac package it seems the mono leaf spring has a diff rate for front and rear segments same as the SS spring. The SS springs have a different rate side to side also. Not sure about the caltracs.

906 or 452 which is best overall

I believe there is more variance from casting to casting than casting number to casting # when talking these heads. I have no bench to prove this. Old school aproach kind of opinion here. I do know some carving under the seat and a back cut valve has always been what woke up a iron head big...

    a body rear end ? 8 3/4 vs dana 60

I have never broke a Dana 60 yet using spools and/or power loc with 35 spline axles. I have broke three 8 3/4 before I quit using them 30 years ago. You do not have to have slicks to break a 8 3/4. A mild 440 on the street can do them in. They are getting expensive so it is a shame to take...

    quench vs no quench?

No thanks, I have heard more than enough. Your opinion on quench contradicts what i've learned on the subject so your opinion really doesn't affect me. It also matters not how aggressive or argumentive you feel you need to be to try and prove your point. I am not required to agree. I like my...

X2 I have tried to steer this back on track a few times. Thanks Rob. You always know just how to put it.

    quench vs no quench?

Everything I've read says if you drop the piston down below .040 you loose the performance benefit of the chambers shape.

    quench vs no quench?

To try and get some more info toward the topic in the title of this thread I seen a awhile back in hot rod magazine where Steve Dulcich (spelling) covered the ins and outs of the chamber design. I don't know how to add the link. Someone else may help out on this. I will try to dig it up again.

    quench vs no quench?

This thread went to hell right out of the gate. I didn't learn much about utilizing the quench combustion chamber that Ma Mopar was kind enough to give us. But its good to know their are no mechanical limits to HP. Mad I think you should head on over to one of the twin turbo, air bearing...

    quench vs no quench?

Like most of you I've been watching this and been waiting for someone to address the quench VS no quench question. I am no engine or head guru but it was always my understanding that using a quench style combustion chamber could be used to speed up the burn of the fuel mixture. This was...
