    slick drag tire question

Yea, I'd say 1" minimum at rest - for inside and outside - but not the top! I'm sure you've seen pics of the tires growing in OD as they get going.. Give yourself a few inches for the top of the tire - maybe even more depending on your set up.

    How much oil

With the motor running pull the hoses off the breathers and put your finger over the end. You should feel a definite vacuum pull - no pressure pulses or anything but a steady vacuum. If not your check valves are probably shot. Their life span depends on the amount of back pressure your exhaust...

    fabricated valve covers

That is an issue with most all valve covers if you run evacs. You always have one in the rear where there is more oil to suck up. I run evacs on mine and in hindsight wish that I would have used the rear hole for oil fill and made a new one up front for a breather grommet.

    fabricated valve covers

From what I've seen there is not much difference between $125 set and $250 set. It depends a bit on what look (finish) you want. Polished are more than natural - anodized more still. Look for weld and finish quality obviously. The biggest drawback I've seen with these covers is that the base is...

A little 4 door E85 action to share videos click to see

Looks like you had a blast! I am so tempted to take mine to the track. I'm 4 miles down the road from a super 1/4 track and have a car that I got into the 10s with but have not raced it for three years now. I've grown bored with taking it to car shows and cruises. Maybe some racing is in order.....

**Post your in Trunk Battery and Fuel Cell Pics**

Pretty much what the others have shown. I'm in the process of laying carpet over the floor and making vinyl covered side panels and vinyl covers for the fuel cell and battery box. If my upholstery guy ever gets it done I'll put up some finished pics too...

    Race mufflers with EVAC setup?

I had Flowmaster 50s on my car with the header evacuations system and the back pressure caused the check valves to fail after a couple of years. This is generally what happens with a full exhaust system. Despite all the rumors the system will work, and work fine, with a full exhaust system, it...

Rich Christensen's(from PINKS) New TV Show, Won and Done!?

Glad to see I am not alone... I really didn't care for Pinks, liked Pinks All Out, much better, but honestly can't stand to watch either one because of the arogant asshole running the shows. I'm sure his new show isn't going to be any better.

Carb Advice - 440 Drag Only

Definitely finish chosing your cam and upper end selection first. I run a 636" lift roller cam with a 950HP but it makes more power with a 1050 Dominator. I think you can safely say the 750 will not be enough for a built 440..

Parts supplier for T&D rockers on 360-1 indys

Make sure you specify that they supply shafts that come from the new supplier they started with this time last year and not something left over from the previous supplier.

Should I drive my car to the track?

A few WOT runs down the strip will always bring out any "weak links" in a car. Some of those might be repairable at the track - others may not...

1st time at the track advice.

Letting off early at the stripe to gage your braking and where the turns offs are is a good idea. Wish someone would have told me to do that... My first time down the a track was an 11.25 run at 124mph - with drum brakes all around.. Scared the crap out of me watching two turn offs go by...

    indy rocker arms

Huuummmm. Stick with Harland Sharpe. And I believe this played a role in it .... I am pretty sure they had issues with hardness of the shafts but would not own up to it. When I ordered a replacement set they just happened to be on BO as they were changing supplier of the shafts...

Any motor with a stout cam and springs needs to stay away from cheap rockers - and I put Indy rockers in that category.

    intake and carb sugistions

Sounds a bit small. A lot will depend on your heads and cam too but I suspect you can improve by going up. My motor is stock stroke but has a big roller cam and full ported Indy heads. I run a 950 Holley on it but when I had it on the dyno put a 1050 Dominator on it and gained 30 hp without no...

    Crankcase evacuation kit!?

Yes, they provide a good first stage of separation to stop oil from going out and are a good, inexpensive first step. Your "breathers" are actually separators that connect into the evac system - as opposed to direct to atmosphere "breathers". With these you have to make sure that you are using...

    Crankcase evacuation kit!?

Ahhh, ok now I got it. Yours isn't vacuum assist - just using the separator as the common vent. I thought you were pulling some vacuum on the can and was surprised at the breather vent on it. That is a good system you have instead of just breathers on the valve covers. At least you can contain...

    Crankcase evacuation kit!?

So you're using the normal header collector pito tubes and check valves on both sides and then run both lines into the canister to pull the vacuum? Does that canister have a drain to remove oil - what brand is it? Does the top breather work off a pressure (vacuum) switch of some sort or is it...

    Crankcase evacuation kit!?

Hey Dustpan, that's a neat set up there. I was thinking of adding in a seperator like that on mine to keep oil from getting into the exhaust. How are you pulling vacuum on the canister - one line or two?

    Crankcase evacuation kit!?

I've run them on my car with mufflers. They do work with mufflers - in proportion to the amount of back pressure your mufflers develop. I ran delta 50s on mine for some time and the back pressure caused the check valve to fail prematurely. Just changed to some straight through Dynomax glass...

    Anyone running M/T ET streets

I am running the ET Street Radials in 325/50-15 on my Savoy. They seem to be fine. My car is not the best one to evaluate how good a tire is on the street though, and I've never tried these on the strip (I have Hoosier QT Pros for that). They seem a bit "squishy" - but - my rear is narrowed and...
