Getting ready to plumb my new fuel system

+1 on the PTFE hose. Install -8AN (1/2”) if the tank and everything else will accept it. That will give you room to grow if you decide to turn up the powers. 10 micron filter before it hits the injectors.

EFI guys, any options for theft protection?

There are definitely all kinds of strategies you could employ with the Megasquirt. Using a 2nd fuel/spark table that cripples the car or puts it in a valet mode, a 2-step mode that just kills fuel/spark at a really low RPM, rev-limiter, etc. All of these could be enabled/disabled from an...

Just as an FYI for you guys that are really pushing the limits of your 1200PA, theres a guy on the Facebook group offering decapped and flow tested 120 lb drop-in injectors. I think the factory Fitech's are 80lb.

    Fitech issues

I would recommend you try to get it going without the Fitech controlling the timing. Obviously you don't want to get into boost before being able to remove timing but it's sounds like you're still a ways off from boost if the idle is unstable. The IAC setting is super important. Don't skip that...

MIne is a single turbo 5.9 with the 1200 PA. I have the MSD knock off with phasable rotor. Pump is an inline AEM 380lph on a relay, battery in the trunk. I never touched the PWM setting. Base timing is 20*. I bought an extra cap and put a hole in it to help me phase it. Wires from the...

I wrapped the wires from the ECU to distributor with HVAC tape and the Velcro insulator, not grounded. I also wrapped the entire length of the O2 sensor lead with the Velcro stuff. That's it.

Rule out the usual suspects first: -Vacuum leaks? I had a lean pop through the throttle body once and it blew the big pcv cap off. Make sure everything is sealed up. -Exhaust leaks before the O2 sensor? And don't be afraid to reset everything and start over, focusing on the IACs first and only...

Yep, I would do the same. I had a ready to run distro on mine also and was really happy with it. I eventually went with a msd knock-off distro that I now control from the fitech. Good luck!

I originally did both feed and return with 1/2" Aluminum line and AN fittings from Speedway. Aluminum Fuel Line, 1/2 Inch O.D. Fitech says not to use aluminum line, but the Speedway stuff has a thick wall and can handle up to 250psi. I recently replaced my feed line with ptfe stainless...

I run the dual plane RPM Air Gap on my 1200PA with a single Turbo. My motor is no where near as powerful as yours N/A but I think the dual plane works fine with the Fitech and I find mine has very streetable manners. I will be switching to a single plane Victor 340 that I have on the shelf, but...

You may need the latest update for your particular model. I gather there isn't a universal firmware, but rather specific to your model. RPM Noise- yes, I used to get it and then I insulated everything with that Velcro backed shielding/insulation wrap. No more RPM noise related fault codes.

2-Step Control Spark Cut Feature ----------------------------- Just installed this new update on my 1200PA. There is absolutely no Fitech documentation on how this works. But basically you install the new firmware (T198i) on the ECU, new software on the handheld. Wire a 12v switch/button to the...

Thought I'd share this little trick mentioned on the Fitech Facebook User's Group. If you are running an external fuel pressure regulator, you can remove and block-off the Fitech supplied one with this BMW piece. I've installed mine already and it's a perfect fit. I'm trying to eliminate the...

    Fuel Injection Thoughts / Recommendations

There is a thread in the Forced Induction category of a truck build with dual turbos and dual Fitechs. I run a single Fitech/turbo blow thru and it has a learning curve but I like it. Mine is probably a little more complicated than most because of the turbo and E85 but they do support dual units.

I bought some of this stuff on EBay. 1/2" x 10'. Wrapped the entire length of the O2 harness, the two wire going to distributo And anything else I could. RPM noise codes are gone but I still get an occasional o2 sensor fault.

105 fault codes. Anybody solve them yet? Many say it's o2 sensor related. My logs are full of them. Swapped out the wideband and am still getting them. Fitech Rotor Phasing

Tried clocking the phasable rotor in the opposite direction. Motor started but sounded horrible. Took the car out last night to log some mild "spirited" acceleration. I left all of the timing curve right at the Fitech defaults which drops timing under boost to about 28*.
