I don't have frame connectors. I have Cal Tracs and am not sure what benefit frame connectors would give me over those. Less frame twist? Thanks for the input!

Thanks J! Me either!!! LOL Shouldn't be too terribly long now, here in South Texas we usually get a warming trend in the next 2-3 weeks and I can get back on it.

Thanks for all the positive comments. I really appreciate them! I talked to a buddy of mine that is a master mechanic and he is going to help me get it back together and most importantly- done correctly. I'm trading him a gun and reloading stuff in trade. Gotta love rednecks and Texas!

Some but never as much as I'd like. 8) I finished painting it and am waiting for warmer weather to finish the Dynamat and start putting it back together. Thanks for checking, I appreciate it!

Here are a few more pics of my attempt at body work. All I have left are the Hood, rear deck lid, and the front valance as far as body work goes. Then I'll be able to start painting!!! Yippee!!! I still have some small pieces I'll do as I prep for reassembly. Should begin painting next...

My pleasure! I don't care for the spacers myself but that is how the car came set up when I bought it. I'm not much of a cheap skate but am of the school of thought that if it's not broken, don't fix it.

I believe you are correct because there is only about 3/4" of clearance when the tires are mounted.

Thanks! The serpentine set up is from March Performance. Total was $2,400 which included all the polished components- water pump, alternator, compressor, and remote reservoir PS pump.

The fronts are 4" and the backs are 5 1/2". The kid I bought it from also put some spacers of some type on the rear hubs.

LOL! Great idea! Not sure if any of my friends are competent to sand after the primer is on. I'd be worried that too much pizza and beer and they would obliterate the body lines. HaHa

Thanks Chris! I'm really having a good time with this. I just wish there were some other guys closer to help out. Makes it much more enjoyable when you can fellowship with like minded folks. Plus it goes a whole lot faster when there are more people helping.

Not off hand but I will measure them first chance I get. I'm guessing I measure from the back of the hub to the outside edge of the rim?

Fantastic creativity! How much will you charge me to help install my Vintage Air system? LOL

Yes. I even saw on Amazon a MIG attachment for doing just that.

Thanks J! I'm really getting excited to start putting stuff back on the car for a change.

1971 Demon - My First Mopar Build

Slowly but surely! I've been working on the passenger side since it is by far the worse. Took me a lot longer than I thought to get it somewhat straight. Finally got it to where I wanted it and got two coats of high build on for now. Going to go around the rest of the car and fix the rest of...

Thanks for the input MoparDemon and CudaChris67! I had wondered about the warping so I guess I'm stuck with filler and blocking. There could be worse issues for sure. :)

1971 Demon - My First Mopar Build

Wow! Nice work! I'm not sure what I'm going to do in the areas that the body line crease is pretty much smooth. I really don't want to use filler and then block sand the line in. I'd rather build up the area with my MIG and then grind it down to where it needs to be. I'm worried about using...

Thanks! Harbor Freight Yellow Monster. :) The gun is only $99 and then they get you on the $25 box of studs. Kind of like printers and ink cartridges.

Started the body work today. It's going to be a slow process since I am not a very big fan of lots of filler. The passenger side is the worse so I thought I would tackle it first. In a couple of spots the body lines (creases) were gone. They're back again!!! Here's what I have so far-

Thanks! I really lucked out on this one. There really are no rust issues except for the spare tire well I replaced. I went and looked at a 72 Demon in San Antonio yesterday with just a 400 block and no tranny. The guy wanted $2,500 and it was pathetic. All he kept saying was how rare they...

1971 Demon - My First Mopar Build

I've been working on modifying the dash the past couple of days. The previous owner had screwed on a cheesy hand made cover plate over the heater controls. The screws weren't even aligned. I'm adding a Vintage Air Gen II system and using their control box. I'm also adding a single DIN stereo...

It was $675.00. Took him a little over 4 hours. The interior is in great shape and didn't need to be blasted which helped.

Trying to get as much done as I can. Got the direct to metal primer on and she's back in the shop. Unfortunately this is probably where it will get slow. I can do all the body work except work metal to look decent. I'm not a fan of large amounts of filler at all. I've been looking for...

The media blasting is finished. Everything came out great and there were no surprises! Yippee!!!

1971 Demon - My First Mopar Build

Here are some "before" pics of the car prior to media blasting. They are going to use glass which will not warp the panels like garnet or aluminum oxide can. It leaves a better profile for coating adherence than soda plus glass doesn't have the need for washing and neutralizing like soda. The...

Thanks for the info. Guess I'll have to get it all together and undo the current U-bolts to achieve the desired height and then measure it for the correct size blocks. Unless there is another way of doing it.

1971 Demon - My First Mopar Build

Here's a couple more pics of the wheels and tires. I'm hoping I can lower the back of the car some with blocks and longer U-bolts so that it doesn't have such a raked look to it.
