Any good wax you like but must be "Cleaner" wax. Has to have that grit to cut the haze out of the lens.

This car has been tapped in the rear in its life and taken a hard hit in the front. Had lots of problems with the driver's side trunk drop and quarter panel alinement. I have the rear in total mock-up with the rear bumper in place to get the fit of both drops and the quarter panel edges. I don't...

One of the last things that I did get accomplished was to get all of the sheet metal fitted and adjusted.

You can be fairly confident that black was as rare in 70 as in 71/72. It was the least painted color for Valiant/Dusters..

And also today I disassembled the steering wheel that I will be using. for cleaning to prepare it for dyeing. Removed the dodge emblem and had to do alittle trimming to fit the Plymouth emblem in. the mounting tab was a little different. Just a few small thing today. A little progress...

Also got after the grille again and after letting the black dry for a week I un taped it in preparation for taping just the fins off to shoot the silver paint. Also didn't take a picture of it but test fit it while I was outside on the parts car to make sure that I located the mounting tabs in...

Got a few more things done this weekend. Went down to Carolina and picked up a needed hood from MikeB. hood is in excellent shape. Started blasting the edges and the inner supports and then etched primed the bottom.

Also got the patch cut out for the driver's side foot well. That will do it for the driver's side except for a pin hole or too. Much larger area for the passenger's side will have too be repaired. Cut the patch to include the drain hole. just a little easier too locate the patch..

Also mocked up the pan and the trunk drops. Drivers side fit like a glove. Worked on the pass. side too long. not a great fit. OK in the trunk area but the lip to lower quarter will need more fit work...

Nice day so got a few more things accomplished. Got all the holes for the trunk pan drilled and sanded down.

Would like to think so. With D Moore's help located a hood that was needed. I wish I had more time to work on it but work, house, etc. Keeps me busy. I will get some time to work on it this weekend. No work and nice weather. .

I believe that the core support area was sprayed before any of those items were installed. This is of course is a 72 Duster,but you can see in these pics of my untouched parts car that their is no over spray on the wiring,hood latch mechanism, or the sides of the radiator. my not be seen here...

And while on the subject of the trunk floor, I marked off the frame rail locations for drilling of the spot weld holes on pan

And also the inside of rear frame rails and lower edge of wheel wells in preparation for trunk floor install.

Driver's side door jamb area.Left the tire pressure decal because the sandblaster was not doing much to it and was on a roll so I will scrap it off the next time I blast and blast that area..

Also got the interior firewall blasted and etch primed..

Cool but sunny, so time too get the front frame rails sandblasted. Left the front several inches undone because both will need repair. also stopped short of the bottom of the firewall where the inner fenders would stop . will blast that when the bottom is done.

absolutely Ulf. Took lots of pictures of the seam sealer everywhere on the car. It was amazing how thick it was in some places..

Under carpet, under the front seat. Rear seat back....

Do yourself and the hobby a favor and clean then take hundreds of photo's of the car and every detail no matter how small. when you think you couldn't possibly take anymore, take more.....
