    The slant 6 904 bell house will be different than the small block 904 so note the starter location. The slant six is at the top corner of the bell house and the small block is at the bottom corner and will not interchange with a plate that I'm aware of. Someone with more knowledge than I have...

    You don't need new leaf springs unless yours are bad and sagging. But you will need the shock plates and U-bolts for 8 3/4. And then it's just a straight forward install.

    You can get one through the local parts store for a mid 80's full size van with 318-904 combo that came factory with a low stall of about what your looking for. Be sure you get the non-locking they because they came with both locking and non-locking. Bonus is it'll be at a reasonable price!

    He's right! Save yourself the headache and just cut them off. Go to the parts store in lift and lowering section you'll find the u-bolt's you need! For a little cash you'll have peace of mind with good new bolt's and no headache putting them in!!! Good luck with your project!:burnout:
