My 1970 Swinger 340 4 speed has an Edelbrock 1406. IF I was going to change it should I go back to the original Carter or is the new Edelbrock a better carb.

Hi, I picked up a single snorkel air cleaner with a trap door on the bottom to put on my 71 Scamp now that we have an Edelbrock 1406 carb. What does the orifice on the back of the air cleaner attach to. Any pictures would be appreciated. Thanks
