I managed to bugger the threads on the steering column when puttin a new switch in can't get the nut to start so I can draw wheel down to where it needs to be. Tried a small file down in the threads but no luck, what can I do now?

If I buy adjustable strut rods can I cut the old ones out and install the adj ones without takin everything apart?

Need to replace mine any tips? never dones these before should I use poly or rubber? Thanks
