ok im talking clutches not hot bodies ... my question is why did the factory put a 10.5 clutch set up on the hemi cars and 11inch on 440 and other Big blocks? or was it body style specific I am putting a new clutch set up on my 340 swinger an was surprised to find some 426 cars listed for the same clutch pack

I don't remember witch year weather 70 or 71 chrysler switched over to the 10.95 scalloped clutch( 10.5 pressure plate with an 11 inch disc) for all performance big block V8's.They up the static pressure as the engine size went up, about 2400# for the 383/400 to around 2800# for the 440 and hemi. 340 stayed with the 10.5 inch clutch, all used the 130 tooth flywheel.
