it is with much sadness that I have to put up my 64 Dart for sale. I need the money to try to keep my house and pay some debts.
Car is a 1964 Dart 2-dr sedan 170. I will try to list everything about it. It has 62K on the chassis. Originally a /6-auto car. Now it has:
1977 360ci v-8, stock bottom end, stock heads with good valve job and egr ports plugged. Holley Street Dominator intake, Edelbrock 650 electric choke carb. Lunati Bracket Master cam, 233 @.050, .480 lift with 1.6 roller rockers, which increases lift to .512. Valvesprings to match the cam/rocker combo. 2.5" exhaust custom made, with cutouts, flowmaster 40 series mufflers. Exhaust turns down just before rear axle. MSD 6AL ignition box. Vintage Cal-Custom finned valve covers.
1977 A999 (904) auto trans. Rebuilt with good, quality parts and a shift kit. 2200 stall converter. This is the desirable heavy-duty 904 with the extra clutches and lower gear set. B&M Star shifter. Factory 4-spd pushbutton delete plate installed on dash. Chirps tires on the 1-2 upshift. Pushbutton shifter will come with the car.
1970 A-body 8 3/4" rear end, non-suregrip, 741 case with 2.93 gearset. comes with another 741 center section with 2.76 gears. Driveshaft was professionally shortened and balanced and new u-joints installed.
Brakes rebuilt with all new parts on all 4 corners. Drums all around.
Gas tank and sender were replaced with new.
Body is in decent shape. Has rust in floors on drivers front and passenger rear. would be saveable with patches. Trunk in good shape, one small rust hole, very saveable. Minor rust on fenders and at bottom of rear window. lower quarters starting to show minor rust. car had been badly repainted at some point before I acquired it, but still is a good 20-footer. All the frame rails, suspension attachment points, and other structural areas of the car are in great shape. All trim is present.
All glass is good, nothing broken or cracked. windshield has some fogging around the edges.
Interior is in OK shape but needs some work. The original seat covers and door panels are still present. Kenwood stereo installed in dash with two 6.5" 2-way speakers in rear package tray. Sunpro Water, Oil, Voltage gauges in custom-installed 63 Pontiac Bonneville cluster, looks like it belongs there. Sunpro Super Tach III with shift light on steering column.
Vintage SBP aluminum slots all around, centers painted black, 14x6 in front and 14x8 in rear. 215/70/14 radials up front, 245/60/14 in rear. Air shocks in rear to keep tires from rubbing. Rear tires in great shape, fronts have some uneven wear due to past alignment issues which have been corrected. Original 14" steel wheels and hubcaps will be included in sale.
Overall this is a decent, solid car. It has been a daily driver for the past year and a half and drives very well. The motor is strong and put down 276hp to the rear wheels on a chassis dyno, with more power still available through more fine-tuning. Trans shifts great, runs great on the street with the converter in it. No problem chirping tires from first to second. Runs pretty cool for the most part, radiator was recored to high-efficiency core, trans cooler installed, and electric pusher fan. The only things it really needs are the rust repair, front disc brakes, and front suspension bushings replaced. Other than that, all the hard work for the v-8 conversion and hard-to-find parts have been done and sorted out over the last year. All electrical items work including the horn and reverse lights. This is a very original-appearing car and gets comments wherever I go. The stance is pretty wicked and it sounds like a million bucks, nice lope at idle and great sound on acceleration. Have not had it to the track but I would guess low 14's easily. I have embarrased a couple of factory turbo imports on the street with this thing. Cruises great on the highway due to the rear gear, 65mph at 2500rpm all day long.
Included in this sale is a 1963 Dart 4-dr parts car. It is missing the motor but otherwise is complete with a VERY solid body with only minor rust in the lower rear quarters right behind the wheels. It would be a great donor for floor and trunk rust repair on the 64, or part it out. It is in good enough shape that it could be a potential restoration candidate. I installed the grill from this 63 into the 64 just because i like it better, but the 64 grill will go with the car. I also have the original /6 and pushbutton trans that came out of the 64 which will also be included in this sale. They are in storage off-site. These could be put into the 63 and put it back together and it could potentially be a running/driving car with a little work.
I REALLY hate to have to get rid of this car as it has been a dependable and VERY fun semi-daily driver for the last year but mounting debt, and a new addition to the family are forcing my hand.
I have a clear Ohio title on the 64. I have not yet got the title to the 63 but I am working on it. Neither of them are salvage titles.
I am asking $5500 for the 64 and 63 parts car together. If you are interested, please call me at (513)708-8792 or email to optik1@hotmail.com or PM through this site.
