Hello all. I first want to share my joy at finding this website. I think I have a years worth of reading to catch up.

I'm Canadian, and happened across this car because of a detour on the road (in the country) and finally asked about it. A week later, I owned it.
It's a 273 2 barrel basic cuda, power nothing. Supposedly this engine has 3K miles on it since full rebuild. The odometer has 30K miles (once over).
I don't think it will take much to get it mechanically fit for the road. All the chrome is there, the interior has been completely restored. Needs paint.
A bargain I would say at $6000 Canadian. Doesn't matter, like the car and excited to re-restore it.
I'll be asking questions to the forum about how to tweak the 273 or maybe at what $$ point do I swap it for a 318/360.
It has headers, dual exhaust but strangely the rest of it is stock basic.
Was kind of thinking a bit of a CAM update (maybe COMP Cams CL20-231-4 Xtreme), 600-650 CFM 4 barrel intake/carb, but ... I'm from an era and skill set that I would just swap for bigger in the past. So, I'm a little out of my element.
It's a toy. Not sure how much I will drive it, I just want to make it better.

Anyway, hello, thanks, I've read the rules and look forward to chatting with some of you.

M

Welcome from Kansas, USA. My oldest daughter has lived in Canada for about 19 years. They lived in Newmarket (just north of Toronto on the 404) and for the last year in Barrie right on the lake. We have probably been up there to visit them 30 times. I have always loved visiting Canada.

Looks like a great little car. 273 is the same as any small block Mopar, just higher compression, solid valve train, and a forged crank. Add a cam, 4 barrel and intake, adjust kickdown and enjoy. Looks a lot like my brothers 67, but he has 400,000 miles on it. You put too much engine in there, you'll be replacing the whole drive train.

Thanks, yes it's nice country up there. Not sure I'll be driving the car there this year, maybe next.

Thanks to all who offered welcome. And thanks for the cam advice as well as the clean, paint, drive and enjoy.
I'll be seeking advice on CAM/Carb (just maybe Carb/Intake actually).
I have to buy another car too as I have to test my ancient painting skills on a donkey and not this one.
I will be asking soon as it gives me something to think about, order, wait, think some more, wait some more. Yep, a good project.
For the next couple / few days I'll be reading the forum so I won't ask too many redundant questions.
