Hi, I've been long time follower of this site and am proud to announce that I finally bought my dream car (almost). I've always wanted a 1968 2 door dodge dart and I recently came across a complete 4 door with a deal too hard to pass up. It came swapped with a 360 (I think '73 block) J heads (still looking for casting #) holley 4bbl carb (not sure what model) mounted on top of an edelbrock performer rpm intake, 727 with aftermarket oil pan and presumably aftermarket torque converter (it seems to be blue anodized, unless this is how they came from the factory), and headers that dump right before the 7 1/4" rear end. SBP drums all around. Definitely going to need a lot of work and I am going to learn how to tune a carb correctly because its completely gutless but overall stoked to start with this.

My current plans are to work on the brakes/suspension then the engine first. Then along the lines be ready to convert everything to a 4 speed and hopefully find a cheap and clean 2 door 67-69 shell so that I transfer everything over, I know righty tighty and lefty loosey but have never welded before so significant rust and cancer scares me. Any and all help would be appreciated with this build along with advice on how to get the most vroom for my buck. Bought it and drove it home with no problems for $1500 registered to my name. Don't have a lot of money to dedicate to this but am prepared to chip away at it for a few years (lol) Let me know what you think

Wow that looks so cool.

The black makes it look like an undercover agent of the 60s or something from dragnet or adam 12.

A vintage cop light would compete the look.

Nice to have you here and your cool car, it has a lot of character
