What are all the different options as far as trim, stripes, decals, etc. I am just starting to tear down my 1969 Dart GT 225 auto. It will be 340 4 speed GTS clone. Wondering what are all the different options I have. Did they ever come with a console delete? If they have the stripe delete did they have a GTS emblem on the fender? Any info would be appreciated. Wont be done any time soon but I would like to have a plan this go around so I don't get a case of the "mine as wells"

No expert but upper body trim removed,

GTS emblem on the inside door panel in place of GT

GTS emblem on front fender on stripe delete car

GTS emblem on finish panel

Think console was part of the package

Bulged hood with engine call out

I have the bulged hood (need call outs) need the GTS door emblems. Did they all have the gts finish panel? The shifter is $$$$$$ with a console. I think I read a thread where someone just welded their own shifter handle to work with a console. I've also seen a GTS that had the stripe delete GTS on the fenders with a dodge emblem on the drivers side of the hood instead of GTS in the center.

Swinger hood?

Console was optional on all cars with bucket seats. I have seen GT and GTS trimmed cars with no console. It all depended on if the person who bought the car new wanted to pay the extra $53.35 for a console.

My 4 speed, stripe delete car has no console and emblems on both fenders. It also has fender trim and rocker spears, I've seen some original cars not have these.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not trying to build a nut and bolt car but looks right from a distance.

The console came standard with the buckets and floor shift auto. You could order a bucket seat column shift 727. The 4 speed console was separate. "Dodge GTS" on trunk finish panel. "GTS" on front fenders if stripe delete. "GTS" in center of bulge hood. "GT Sport" emblems on inside upper door frames. Don't forget you need the dash bezel set with three pieces-gauges/radio/glove box. No upper body mouldings, but you need drip rail/wheel well/rocker mouldings if you really want to dress up the body. Black-out grill treatment as well.

The dash bezels should be the same as the GT package right?

According to all the literature I've seen, rocker moldings an wheel opening moldings were standard on all '69 GTSs. Of course, anything is possible.

Why make it a GTS clone at all? I always liked the look of the GTS Darts so on my car I added the powerbulge hood, and a bumblebee stripe, and removed my 270 side trim

Got the look I want, but I'm not trying to fake anybody out by having GTS badges on it.

But its your car, so its your call.

The plan of attack is to build a car exactly how I would have ordered it. I could mix and match swinger, gts, gt but that's not what I want to do. Not trying to fake anybody out just build what i would have bought without spending $$$$$ on a real one.

REPLICA (LOVE THIS MOVIE)
