I am looking to sell my '72 D200 regular cab long bed pickup truck with 136k miles. It is originally from Nevada and spent the majority of its life hauling a camper topper around being used as an RV so it's very clean. I got the truck in 2019, it hadn't run in over a decade and needed some work to get back on the road; I upgraded the original front drums to front power discs from a mid-1980s W250 along with new medium-duty front coil springs and KYB Gas-a-just front shocks. It had factory A/C but wasn't working when I got it so I removed the compressor, condenser, drier and all other underhood parts. The original heater core sprung a leak shortly after I got it running (~2020) so I had it recored and has worked great since. Has a 360 engine that I upgraded with Performer 4-bbl intake and Edelbrock AVS-2 carb, Hedman longtube headers and a Pertronix Digital HP ignition box and Summit Billet distributor (kinda overkill for a stock-ish engine but I had plans to swap in a built 440); runs strong and doesn't smoke or consume oil. Factory true-dual 2 1/4" exhaust with Dynomax Ultra Flo mufflers. Aluminum radiator from ECP, high-flow water pump and Robertshaw-style high-flow 180-degree thermostat. Has an OEM (1990s Dodge truck) mini-starter I had to put in to fit with the headers. The 727 transmission is in great shape, shifts smooth and crisp and the fluid is clear, no signs of clutch material or overheating. Factory full-floating Dana 60 rear axle with 3.54:1 gears. American Racing 17" Baja wheels and 33" General Grabber ATX tires. I lined the bed in October 2023 with Durabak-18 which has held up great.
This truck is very reliable, I drive it at least once a week to keep it in good running shape and it cruises down the road effortlessly; steering is tight and will run at 70+ mph all day long. I even towed my '70 Duster on a U-haul car hauler trailer a few times and it did great (has working trailer light wiring). The electric wiper fluid sprayer even works! The roof has minor surface rust but is solid, I resealed the rain gutter with seam sealer. There is some rust on the front driver-side corner of the bed and on the driver side floor pan of the cab.
Looking for $6500 OBO, located in Augusta, GA 30185.
