The Sleeper, The Mountain Ripper, The Autocrosser, 1973 Plymouth Scamp with original 318 and 904 transmission. Third owner, the car is from the Santa Rosa, CA area, and the second owner stated, "This was mothers car, no one touched or drove mothers car except mother, she drove 3 miles to work, to the store, and to church." No info on the original owner as the car was purchased by mother at a used car dealer in Santa Rosa. The car was bone stock with a dealer added AC system at that time, I changed all that as you will see. Below are the majority of the upgrades, sans every little grade 8 bolt, replaced seal, AN fitting, doohickey, and chingadera. The Plymouth Scamp is rarer than the Dart and this one has major upgrades, $18,500 or best offer.
Chassis, Suspension, and Steering:
-US Car Tool Chassis Stiffening kit; frame rails, front and rear torque boxes, front inner fender braces w/ shock mount reinforcements, lower core support brace.
-the K-member has been welded for strength and now sounds like a tuning fork; solid as a rock
-QA1 upper control arms, dynamic strut bars, and single adjustable shocks on all 4 corners
-Mancini racing lower control arm welded plates and the lower control arms have been fully rebuilt with new MOOG hardware
-Sway Away Torsion Bars; p/n 4820, this took the torsion bar diameter from the stock 0.87" to a hefty 1.03" diameter
-all rubber bumpers and stops replaced with new (either stock, Energy Suspension, or Prothane), engine/transmission mounts as well
-Helwig front sway bar
-Hotchkis rear sway bar
-beefy 7/8" threaded MOOG inner and outer tie rods
-Hotchkis rear leaf spring kit, p/n 24385, “Geometry Corrected Sport Leaf Springs” for A-Body
-Mancini racing rear axle mount plates and U-bolts; improved rear shock geometry and provision for tie-downs
-Borgeson power steering box, pump, and coupler kit with new Saginaw style power steering pump
Brake and Fuel systems:
-front brakes are stock disc brakes from the factory on factory stock spindles
-new Currie drum brakes in the rear
-new master cylinder for disc/drum
-new braided brake lines in front
-new braided brake line in rear with new and rerouted lines
-new stock fuel tank

-extra capacity cast aluminum A&A transmission pan
-AN fittings with braided lines to and from a trans cooler with fan and Derale in-line thermostat (automatic)
Driveshaft:
-new and balanced, made at South Bay Driveline in San Jose, CA

Exterior:
-also kept as stock as possible with no cutting, fender rolling, or chopping, it is straight with all chrome pieces present
-the holes in the front bumper are worth 10 to 15 degrees of added cooling given the larger radiator is half covered by the bumper
-the usual rust bubbles in the typical places (around the rear window), some bubbles behind rear wheels
-the car was resprayed in the original color and I believe the vinyl roof was replaced previously
-the paint is decent and a person that knows how to bring paint back could make this car look really good
Extra info:
-I have the wipers, the wiper motor works, the car needs the "thingy" that connects the motor to the wiper arm linkage system
-plenty of extra parts and ordered parts I did not use
-I have a spare rear window if wanted
-I have the US Car Tool front end lifter kit that works with an engine hoist, it's awesome to remove entire front K-member with engine and suspension
-all the windows work fine
-the doors and locks work fine
-trunk seal was replaced, trunk shuts fine (the spare and jack are long gone)
-yes, the heater and defroster work (dash cover included)
-the Alpine stereo "works" but the cassette player is tired and worn out...I kept it for looks and nostalgia only
-the car is sitting on decent 17 inch wheels and decent enough tires (basically rollers at this stage)
Yes, these upgrades work extremely well, the car handles and performs great. Come check it out and make me a reasonable offer, $18,500 obo. The car is located in Santa Barbara, CA.
