Well, I have owned the car now for about 4 months now and the restoration has begun. I am not going all out on this one but when its done, I think it wil be something to be very proud of.
I picked it up here in Windsor, Ont and when I took a good look at it, I couldn't beleive the shape it was in. The floors, frame, trunk were all in escellent cond. The body has a couple little sopts but nothing to worry about. The previous owner had gutted the car and POR-15 the floors, trunk and most of the underside. It has glass fenders which I traded for a set of nice steel ones. Already had SB Rally's and new BFG Radials. Original /6 car.
It sat for a few months before I actually started working on it. A couple weeks ago I picked up a '74 Dart Sport which had all my needed parts incl an 8 1/4 rearend with a 3.23 suregrip, HD springs, black interior, snorkel hood scoop, K-frame, disc brake asembly, plus much more. Picked it up for $600 off a great guy just outside of Detroit.
So the project has begun and the rearend was the first thing I have done so far. The underneath looks amazing. With the instal, I put in a set of new KYB shocks that came with the Swinger at purchase.
Next will be the disc brake conversion, then its off for paint. Although a colour hasn't been 100% picked, I am either going with Moulin Rouge or Bad Apple Green.
More pics to come.
