I have for sale , or trade, a 1995 Kia Sportage EX 4x4, 4 cylinder (2.0L SOHC), 5 speed. The vehicle has power windows, power steering, power brake, power mirrors, power locks, power rear tire carrier (outside mounted) and hatch release, cruise, tilt, cold air, rear wiper/washer, rear defroster, front intermittent wiper w/ washer, fuel door release, center console, luggage rack. It has an aftermarket stereo w/ CD. Vehicle purchased in Oct. 2007 w/ 187,000 miles. At that time I (my shop) replaced the cylinder head w/ a remanufactured unit. A new timing belt, water pump, idler pulley, tensioner, thermostat & gasket, and all hoses were replaced at that time. The cooling system was flushed, and the radiator was cleaned and repaired as necessary. Fresh oil, filter, and antifreeze were installed. The oil/filter are changed each 3,000 miles. There is no oil usage or leakage between changes. CarQuest brand (mfg. by Valvoline) 5W-20 full synthetic oil is used. A new heater core was installed at 190,000 miles. Belts were ok, and not replaced. The battery is in good condition. The transmission, clutch and transfer case are in good condition. The MANUAL transfer case engages the front differential and axles as it should. I believe the slave cylinder OR the slave cylinder hose has a small leak, as I need to add fluid occasionally. A new slave cylinder hose is included w/ the vehicle. A new ignition module is included w/ the vehicle (was in it when I bought). The following either need replacement or repair: clutch slave cylinder OR slave cylinder hose, and the flywheel has a tooth or two stripped. The vehicle starts with the key as it should, but about 1 time out of 3 or 4 I will need to put the vehicle in 5th gear, and rock it about an inch or two forward or back to put the flywheel in the proper position to start w/ the key. The flywheel is about $60. on-line, plus the labor to replace it as quoted by your mechanic. (Easiest to R/R the engine as it's a 4x4). The front hubs (manual) only, need to be replaced. WARN hubs are priced on-line for about $125. for the pair. They can be replaced in about 30-40 minutes (pr.) by yourself or your mechanic. Everything else on this vehicle works as it should. Fuel mileage is 23/27, city/road. Tires are in fair to good condition. Interior is in good condition. The exterior is in good condition. NO RUST!, and a few minor scrapes/dings. NO MAJOR DAMAGE! Color is white w/ black graphics, grey interior. Vehicle currently has approx. 221,000 miles. This is a daily driver, w/ an average of 100 miles per day in usage, 75 of that in road miles to and from work. I have taken this vehicle on road trips to south Miss., central Fla., and into eastern N.C. without incident. Vehicle is located in north Alabama (near Huntsville). Asking $1500, negotiable. I will consider trades for a 1960-61 Valiant 2 door, 4 door, or wagon, or a 1964-5 Valiant 2 or 4 door, in running condition. I prefer rust free, but a few dings/small dents, interior repairs are not a problem. I have clear title to the Sportage. If you have further questions, feel free to ask. Pictures are available to those interested, by e-mail. Phone contact is 256-714-4933 (cell). Thanks, David.
