Let me start by saying this is my everyday driver dodge ram 1500 4x4 with 253000 miles I just replaced the rotors pads calipers and brake lines on the front in May. The back wheel cylinders, drums and springs in the rear were replaced 2 years ago and the brakes were bleed in May and have worked flawless since. And my master cylinders is completely full its not low that was my first thought. So here is the problem I'm having Thursday night i drove home and I had no problems at all Friday morning I got it to go to work and my abs and light was on when I got to the stop sign at the end of my road my brakes completely and violently locked up with the slightest brake pressure. So i turned around and came home and everytime I touch the brakes they lock up. I have done some research and everthing points to the abs module. But i was watching vidoes and reading and ppl say that their brakes worked fine with a bad module the lights just stayed on. Any brake experts on here? What do you guys think ? Thanks

The rear abs sensor also controls the Speedo too is that correct? I didn't pay attention if mine was working or not?

I just ran out and drove it around the block and the Speedo isn't working either!

03 2500 here, my ABS unit crapped out as well. Must just be one of those things

Probably the rear ABS sensor/wiring/connection.
You where correct!! The little bracket waa rusted and broke and the wiring fell and was rubbing the yoke it rubbed the wires in two! I'm gonna go ahead and replace the sensor while im in there. I'm on my way to oreillys now!

Ok i got it fixed good as new I replaced the section of wiring and nice and neatly attached it to the brake line I need to go back and zip tie it I'm out of zip ties at the moment. Thanks @RustyRatRod you saved me about 100 bucks on an abs module I thought it was that!

What's it doing? Superior makes a nice shift kit for those that solves a lot of problems.

I'm having irratic shifting issues and a strong clutch burn smell. I have noticed it for a while but its getting worse and the shifting is getting worse I'm pretty sure its the worn servo bores found in all fords but i cant find anyone with that problem reporting the clutch smell. And mine isn't throwing a code like most ppl say. Everything iv read says they will throw a code mine is not. But i have the 1st to 2nd not shifting problem when it does it shifts extremely hard. Like jerk your neck hard. And its very soft spungy feeling in 4th and OD! Today it didny even want to pull a hill I was going like 20mpg at around 3500-4000 rpms with the pedal to the floor and it wouldn't accelerate. It's an 04 mercury mountaineer with the 4.6 and 5 speed auto hope this helps maybe you can save me again haha

By 1st to 2nd not shifting if I mean if I pull out and accelerate rapid it will not shift until I ease off the pedal and get back into it. It's hit and miss it's been doing it for about 3 years iv had two different transmission shops look at it and both said it was fine to them so idk. But the clutch/brake smell started in abiut june and its getting worse.I'm gonna start with a fluid change and some Lucas oil.

Sounds to me like the converter is going away. They have a big clutch, you know?

I didn't know that thanks for that I will look into that! That never crossed my mind lol i was thinking that servo bore problem lol. Thanks again

Is there any way possible it's just low on fluid it has the stupid sealed transmission so no dipstick I'm gonna take out the overflow plug and check it. The tc makes sence tho cause sometimes when its cold and hasnt been drove in a while it takes a while of running before it wants to pull out kinda sluggish off the line
