It's not an A-body, but it would do a nice job towing yours around and hauling parts for it!
I factory ordered this truck in order to get the unique combination of a Quad Cab and a 5 speed manual transmission ( #savethemanuals ). To that was added the Sport Plus Option Package, 4.7L V8 Engine, Trailer Tow Group, Split-Bench Seat, and Sliding Rear Window. The truck has lived its entire life in California and is totally rust free from top to bottom. It was given a Line-X spray-in bed liner when it was still brand new, before carrying any cargo in the box. The bed extender was ordered from the Dodge dealer and installed at the same time.
It currently has a little over 148k miles on it and is in very good mechanical condition. It starts right up, idles well, and runs and drives as it should. A file of service records available to review most notably documents the following:
Line-X bed liner installed in Dec ’03 at 300 miles;
2 new (60k mile) tires installed in Oct ’15 at 117k miles;
New clutch assembly (replacing the original) installed in Feb ’16 at 120k miles;
New headliner installed in May ’17;
2 new (60k mile) tires installed in May ‘19 at 134k miles;
1 new tire replaced under warranty in Jun ’20;
4 wheel brake job completed in Nov ’20 at 140k miles;
New upper radiator hose assembly installed in Jul ’21.
The body is in very good condition, and it has never been involved in an accident. There is one golf-ball sized dent in the front right fender, and minor denting and scratches on the top of the right rear bed rail. Other than that it just has the minor dings, chips and scratches you’d expect to see on a truck of this age/mileage. The paint is starting to show its age, especially on the horizontal panels where the clear coat is starting to peel off. This is most prevalent on the roof, hood, and fender flares. All of the glass is original to the truck.
The truck was factory ordered with the Trailer Tow Group which included the class IV receiver and seven pin harness. It also has the Heavy Duty Engine Cooling option. It has only ever served as a tow vehicle for less than 1k miles of its life. Included with the sale is the unused factory trailer brake controller wiring harness, and 7 to 4 pin harness adapter.
The interior is in great condition, with no torn or stained upholstery. Floor mats have been installed since new, and the carpet below is in great condition. The truck has never been smoked in. The headliner was recently replaced. The dash has been protected from the sun since new underneath an aftermarket dash pad, however the exposed plastic grate for the windshield defroster is brittle and cracking. The truck was ordered with the optional 40/20/40 front split bench seating, which provides a center storage arm rest, but also accommodates for seating up to six people in the cab. The rear seat is also split at 60/40 which allows for various cargo and passenger carrying options. The manual sliding rear window is great for both ventilation and for carrying extra long items. The truck has AC, cruise control, power windows and locks, keyless entry, power mirrors, fog lamps, 12V power outlet, tinted glass, tilt steering column and more. Included are two original keys and key fobs; one of the fobs has never been used, and had the battery removed when new. The factory stereo was upgraded to a Sony head unit which features Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free operation, AM/FM CD, Sirius XM ready, a detachable face, remote control and more. Everything works as it should with one exception; the front right power window has recently started to make an abnormal sound when it goes up and down, which may be a precursor to window regulator/cable failure which has occurred before.
