Can i run a 235/60/15 on a 6 inch stock steel rim? Will they fit? They're for the back end of my '66 Dart (Canadian Valiant). If not i I guess I could get a 7 inch steelie made with a custom offset.

Al.

I had 235/60R15 Radial T/As on 6.5" rims, but that is the narrowest BFG recommends for that tire size.

I recommend that you go to www.tirerack.com and check out the "specs" for tires that interest you.

Some tire manufacturers list 235/60/15's minimum size rims as 6".

Here's a few:

I like the Tire Rack site because it gives dimensions for all of the tires so that you can make an educated selection.

I have Goodyear Wingfoot 235/60-14's on my Barracuda. Goodyear's minimum rim width was 6". I have the tires mounted on 14x6 ralley wheels.

My 89 Dakota came with 235/75-15 from the factory on 6 rims.

You can always run a little wider or smaller than recommended, the tire may wear on the edges a little faster, and autocrossing is not recommended, but the tire will still be safe.

considering that i had L60's on a 6" rim on my old '70 Nova, i would think that the 235's would work just fine. the L60 is the same as a 275. unless you like cornering hard, than i wouldn't recommend it. Nova's like Dart's have notoriously small wheel wells to fit big rubber in. my current '71 Dart has 255's on the back with a 15x8 rim. the rims are A/R Outlaws that i dont like at all and i will be replacing with some 15x7 plain steel wheels when i find some.
