I have a 318 from a 1985 Ramcharger that I want to put in a 71 Demon (that I've had to walk away from more than once). However, the EGR ports to the exhaust ports have been welded closed. :banghead: Is that going to pose a problem? I wouldn't think so but I'd like to have some input from someone else.
I have exhaust manifolds from a 71 318 that I'd like to use. The intake has an EGR valve on it but it apparently wasn't working. Anyway any input would be appreciated.
Thanks Gene

No, it should not cause any problems. It is standard practice to weld or tap/plug the EGR ports on 302'/308' casting heads to use in a performance application anyway.

Many thanks. I was hoping someone would help me make sense out of this. Now I know the reason. Thanks again.
