360 intake on a 340? and casting number

So i've been trying to find my casting number with no real luck. When i searched, i found several threads that said the casting number was on the driver side under the head, but i'm having no luck finding it.

The other thing is that i ran the numbers on the manifold. 4095080. Which came up as a 360 intake.

Are there any good tricks for finding that casting number while the engine is in the car?(73' duster)

Look on the side of the engine block above starter. It might be hard to see try using mirror. The 340 and 360 have same runners and can interchange.

It is actually a stamping on the front of the block just below the left head. It can be hard to read if it wasn't stamped well. You most likely will have to scrape the block to bare metal to read it.

No the best idea, but all the small block stuff is pretty well interchangable. I have an entire 318 top end on my 360 (budget shortfalls), It works just fine. Nice torque anyhow. Plan to get the J heads on soon though.
