You can easily modify your 2-barrel bracket. I just did this myself. The bracket has a 90 degree bend in it where the throttle cable attaches. Take that bend out of the bracket. Now that section will be sticking straight up...not bent over.

Now, test fit the bracket to the engine. You will probably find that it is a little too short. I needed to add 1/2" of material to the bracket so the throttle cable mounting area was a little farther forward...and a little higher up. I cut the end off of the bracket and welded a 1/2" piece in between the two.

I straightened out the bend that was where the blue line is. Then I cut the bracket and added the material between the two red lines. Once I'm done mocking up the linkages and brackets, I'll make it look pretty.

Thanks cudacrazy67 yes i have some correct originals and will save you some work and be correct but as mentioned anything can be cut, spliced welded, heated and bent it just depends on how you want it to look, function and how much time you have to spend. If you are not using the other correct corresponding pieces for the 4-bbl kickdown you might as well cut, heat, bend and weld because you will be doing that with some of the other pieces as well to get them to function anyway.

Nothing wrong with buying the correct bracket if one exists. There is no "correct" bracket for my application though. The intake is tall plus the thick insulating carb gasket makes things even taller. The adjustable brackets aren't set up for the kickdown linkage. The bracket mod didn't take long and it was free. When it's cleaned up it will look like a factory piece....so will the kickdown rods.
