someone has been in there before as the front bearing retainer has sealant on it, and the reverse shifter stud is broken and will need to be replaced.

Short tailshaft transmissions are 23 3/16″ inches from where they mount to the bellhousing to the end of the transmission and are found in the smaller A-body and F-body cars.

actually, per this source, it must be a/f body because of short shaft tail.

def. NOT a truck trans! its a short tailshaft it will work in A and F bodies with no problems!
the truck trans looks the same and has the long tail shaft like the E and B bodies with the dual shifter mounts.
