i have a 4 speed that i'm trying to find out what its worth and what it is or what kinda car it is out of. the main case is aluminum and the tail shaft is steel. i was told it is out of a f-body volaire, but will fit A-bodies.
i have some numbers off it.
main case
C-13546 B
(oposite the inspection cover) PP 8332508
tailshaft C99126-1

I can't decode the numbers on your case. I can't tell you how much its worth. But, if its an 833 and the distance between the seal mating surface and the case is 12.62 inches it fits and A or E body. If the demention is 16.38 it fits a B or E body. I could crawl under my truck and see if it uses a different demension but I'm not going to. If the case is aluminum you should check to determine whether or not it is an overdrive unit. Pop the side cover and count the teeth - if the tooth count on the counter shaft is 17/27/37/33 its an OD unit. 17/25/29/33 or 17/23/27/31 or 16/20/24/27 or 17/23/26/30 or 16/20/23/26 are all non-od counts. If the input spline count (the part that sticks into the clutch/engine) is 18 it's a hemi unit. If its 23 its not a hemi unit.

That's all I know. I don't even know that , I'm reading it from a magazine.

thanks for the info. its a 23 spline. i was told it fits A or F body cars and its supposidly out of a F body Volaire.
I am trying to sell it, but i was told the case alone is worth between $250-$350, but i've had offers of anywhere from $60 - $150

Check the side cover, it should have a year cast into it inside a circle (should narrow it down) . If it is out of a volare it's a shorty, worth more than a long tail 833-OD to a-body folks but I paid $50 for a long tail and it came with a shifter and some other goodies.
Cases can be had from Brewers. It's only worth 350 if it is complete and rebuilt. ( at least to me ) I'd say if someone is offering $150, then that's what it's worth :) ( not trying to be a smartass )
