Is it ok to mount to the lower ears on a 440 for engine stand, complete engine?

It will hold but it will wobble. A real 426 Hemi with iron parts is very wobbly, almost un-nerving. Be an expensive fall to the ground.

I can do that, but is there a reason why? So move em to the holes above the lower mounts?
My mistake. My one good eye was playing tricks on me. I thought the dowel pin was a bell housing bolt hole.

Make sure you reweld the snout on the engine holder and weld a brace on the post. Once it breaks off its to late. Seen it on these stands . Fresh big block ford engine came back. broken damper and a bent crank. a $4000 dollar mistake.

That’s how I’ve always done it with multiple small blocks and big blocks. That’s a good suggestion above about welding a brace on.
