I'm rebuilding a '97 5.2 Magnum for my Dart, and I need to replace the connecting rod bolts. Although it seems logical, I can't confirm that it uses the same rod bolts as the LA. I certainly can't locate any Magnum-specific rod bolts. Will an LA bolt set work?

I'll need this info soon, as well.

Huh... Thank you. I swear I couldn't find any Magnum references on the ARP site before, but yep, there it is.

I apologize for my apparent blindness!!!
No apologies. Just glad to help.

You'll break the beams on the rods before you'll ever break the bolts.

Save your bolt and resize money and run them like they are, or use that money towards some aftermarket rods.

Rod bolts are an item that magazine engine builds for 50 years advocated you needed. Mopars have bigger bolts than other OEM manufactures, so no need for them.

Also all magazine engines replaced the bolts because their advertisers needed to sell parts and thus your engine couldn't be high performance without them.

Magnums break rod bolts long before the rod lets go.
