5.9 swap donors badges

you usually can look on the top of the radiator support and find an epa label with year and engine size. the la 360 had a thicker harmonic balancer than the 318, I'm not sure on the magnums. I can tell you from experience you're a lot better finding a running truck to do the swap as you will spend a fortune in gas running after parts unless you live close to a u-pull it. if you look, you can usually find a 96- 2001 with rust or a bad tranny for around 15-1800 bucks, or you can around here anyways. believe me, you wont regret it. lol. with the way scrap prices are, you can call someone to come pick up the remains and still get 2-3 hundred bucks for it. dave.

after further research and scouring of the ram forum,,
turns out the 8th digit on the vin number of the donor truck has a letter or number to identify the 5.9 or 5.2 engine..

my 8th digit on my vin donor is a Z meaning its a 5.9..a number 5 would also indicate its a 5.9
