Okay so hopefully this is the last question I have in regards to building my 904. I'm at the point of adjusting the reverse band. The factory manual I am using is for 1975, the picture below shows the amount of turns and for a 225 Slant six Show 7 with a parentheses of 2. The other picture below is the adjustment screw and as it sits is port to 72 inch pounds. The transmission is from a 1981 vehicle now my question is, is the amount of terns any different? It almost seems like the reverse band we need to be backed out seven turns as there is barely enough thread sticking out for the Locking nut. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

I think I figured it out...
225's get the adjuster torqued to 41 In pounds and backed off 7 turns.
So my last question would be is this the same spec for 1981? I cant imagine it would change much

There's no way I'm doing SEVEN turns on ANYTHING. Sounds like an invitation for that piston to flip sideways. I just never could do it. I like TransGo's instructions on setting bands; based on rotate/not rotate in both directions.

I get that but factory says 7 on slant six 904s, seems slants are the only ones that are backed off that many turns.
