I recently picked up a 66 Valiant Signet with a slant six and 3 on the tree. It was a clean car at one time but is in need of help. Two main issues right now are the column shifter and the speedo cable. Does anyone know of any company's making replacement bushings or rebuild kits for the Shifter set-up attached to the firewall?? I have too much slop in shifter arms and 1st gear over travels and sticks. As for the speedo cable, I've found that they are available, but my a-903 tranny is missing whatever adapter it needs to connect the cable. Only has some sort of plug in it now. Anyone have any info on parts or possible fixes???

I apologize if this has been addresses elsewhere, but I've been searching for answers and have continued to come up short.

Hey Bud, Welcome to FABO. Did you buy that car from a girl out in Cali somewhere. I believe she had it advertized here for awhile if its the same car!!

As for your questions, I don't know of anyone who repops the bushings, but I recently aquired a boatload of early A parts, and included in the deal were a few steering columns in various stages of dis-assembly, including a treee shift!! I may have the items you're looking for but I need to go through all of the boxes, and I'm not exactly sure what it is I'm looking for!!

As for the speedo setup, I am also parting out a 64 4 speed Cuda, and it may have that speedo unit on the trans. I'll check it out after the storm clears and see whats under there!! Geof

FYI, A friend of mine has a 77 dodge pickup 3 on the tree. He got bushings for his truck at the Dodge Dealer. They may have a part number that fits other years and models that will work. Just a thought.
