I removed the dash on my 67 Barracuda fastback about 4 years ago during restoration. When re-installing the dash panel a couple of days ago, I noticed the dash frame-to-cowl interface left a gap of about 1/8" (see pictures below) across the joint. Question: is this the correct interface or should the gap be filled with some sort of sealer or weatherstrip?

Mine didn't come with anything but dust and debris in it. Just got it back on yesterday and understand that the windshield gasket covers/hides the gaps on installation.

Now, you got me curious. . .think I'll go fit the gasket and see what it looks like there.

Here you go- great coverage on the vertical posts inside as well as the gaps and the end of the dash. You can see that the bolts and gap are covered.

This is a '68 gasket for the stainless trim. . .looks like it glues at the bottom mid 2/3rds rather than cupping an edge like the rest of the opening.
