68 Barracuda hood inserts

Hey Guys

Anybody know where I can get a set of 383 hood inserts for my 68 Barracuda and if so are they stupid money?? Is someone repopping these?? I thought I remember someone making custom ones that you could get something engraved in them????

You might try Tony's Parts http://www.tonysparts.com/ he lists some 383s (and 340s) but at $395 to $495. Maybe these hood callouts are becoming as scarce and pricey as A body 4 speed console shifters.

Nobody is reproing them, to my knowledge.

That's a 67 you have there Memike. The 68 340S and 383S fetch the big bucks.

I have a set for my 68 but am half-considering making a custom set out of billet aluminium with close weave wire mesh inserts made to look like gills, if you will, just for a bit of fun.
