Hi!

I'm trying to match the numbers in my 69 Barracuda Modtop. I have a slant 6. The Fender plate is pretty rusty, but it looks like it says:

A01 C16 C55 C15 G33 L31
Y2 F6P X2 919 067330
E24 D31 BH23 B9B 144489

I see E24 = 225 1 Barrel 6 Cylinder so I know it's the right type of engine...

And 89B:
B = 225 145HP 1-1BBL 6 CYL
9 = 1969
B = Dodge Main, Hamtramck, MI, USA

Can't quite make out all the numbers on the Engine Vin - but it looks like:
PT 225 T 2709

PT=Trenton Plant
225=225 slant six
T=?
2709= Friday, December 27th, 1968
and the big stamp on the engine reads:
2806830 - 2

So it looks like the correct year. But how do I know if it's the engine that came with the car? Also looks like the car was build 2 months before the engine. Would they have made the engine in Trenton and the car in MI? Did I just answer my own question??

Thanks!
Drats.

Everything looks close from the fender tag - looks like this database isn't pulling up the modtop stuff - just not sure if this is the original engine.

Ah - so the car was built 9/19/1968 - but the engine stamp says 2709.. Is that Sept 27?

Double check the numbers it is hard to read the tag from your post.

Shouldn't the engine pad have the sequence number ? My 69 fastback has the sequence number on the engine and trans both , the 727 with the slant seems odd as well but hey a friday car would be lucky to even have a motor in it let alone the correct one eh lol
