71 Duster Slant 6 Automatic

What trans fluid should I use?

I see mixed opinions on here and no where does it list it for sure!?!??

I gotta change the trans cooler lines and want to change the tranny fluid at the same time

some tell me dexron some tell me atf sum say
type f sum say atf+4 what does the owners manual say ? grrr

Im lucky enough to have the orig. operators manual for my 71 slant six automatic Duster. It reads (Automatic Transmission Fluids of the type labeld DEXTRON Automatic Transmission Fluid should be used. Chrysler Parts DEXTRON Automatic transmission Fluid is a fluid of this type, and is recomended.) And that is straight from the book. Man these manuals were alot more simple back in the day. As a foot note the orig. owner had left the manual in the plastic sleeve it came in along with an advertisment that must have come with it for Chrysler Marine Products Titled ( Chrysler makes it happen,Captain!) Wow is that 70's or what Dude?
