Small block 727 that I completely rebuilt about 5000 miles ago.

It has a Mr. Randy's billet rear servo
4 disc rear clutch carrier with A&A blue plates and kolene steels
5 thin A&A blue clutch plates with kolene steels in the front carrier
Solid Raybestos HP front band with a reinforced band strut
Bolt in sprague
It has a deep pan with a billet spacer and a fitting for a temp sensor and has a drain plug.
Trans-go TF-2 shift improver kit and it shifts real solid.

When I do a trans the case gets hot tanked (non-caustic) and every wear item gets replaced. All new bushings, thrust washers, clutch discs, steels, bands, front pump, etc..

I also shimmed the geartrain end play and total end play and set the clutch plate clearance to high perf specs.

It is a 69 trans that originally had the narrow front drum bushing but I replaced the front drum and front pump (pump was remanufactured from Hensley racing) to accept the later 1" wide support bushing. I did my usual oiling mods. It is still in my car so I couldn't take any pics but it's clean and you all know what a 727 looks like.

The converter is an 11" PTC that I had built for my old 360 and it stalled 3000 with the 360. A couple yrs. ago I installed a 408 and it stalls right close to 3500 with the 408 (very torquey 408) and it has excellent street manners. The converter has about 15,000 miles on it but I just had it opened up and checked and a new snout installed because it had a little wear. This trans. is really overkill for my application as I'd estimate it'll take 750 hp easy so I'm swapping to a 904. That is my only reason for selling it.

If your a racer looking for a real tough SB trans I can install a billet front drum and manual valve body for the price of parts and a very minimum labor charge of $50. Or if you are looking for a smooth street driver that can handle a lot of abuse I can tame down the shifts some for no extra charge.

Please note that do to the high stall converter this trans will need an auxiliary cooler.

$200 for the converter and $500 for the trans or $700 for the pair plus shipping

I have a buddy that works at a place in St. Louis with a shipping dock so I can ship it most anywhere. I talked to my buddy today and he said he can help me coordinate the shipping with a shipping company. If your a local I can meet you up to 100 miles away for the price of fuel.

would that set up work ok behind a 380HP crate motor?? currently running a 318 with a 904 in my Scamp. Have the 380 HP going in this winter Thanks Jim

Do you know if the crate motor is internally or externally balanced? I forgot to mention but the converter is for an internally balanced engine. If the crate motor is externally balanced you could still make it work buy buying the B&M flexplate that balances it. I think their about $90 at Summit

Not a problem. The crate is externally balanced and I bought the B&M plate but it's for the 904 and I don't think it will fit a 727. Do you still have the tranny and converter for sale?? Jim

Jim I'm sorry but I do not have the trans. The local sale went through. I have the converter but your right, it wont' fit a 727.

If I'm not mistaken the only difference between the B&M 727 and 904 flexplate is the bolt circle dimension. 904's generally use a 1" or 2" smaller converter than a 727 but you can get 727 converters in smaller size than stock. In fact most high perf. aftermarket converters are smaller than stock. So in the end all it comes down to is using a converter with the correct bolt circle dimension to bolt up to that flexplate. Hope that makes sense
