727 yoke question

do they make the 7260 or the 7290 yoke with the splines all the way to the end of the yoke. I noticed mine has the splines stop about an inch or more from the end. I think Lance aid he dad one that had them all the way out. Is this an item that is aftermarket and can you get them today. If you know can you tell me where to get one. and the next question is why does the splines not come all the way out. Is there a reason for it. I will be needing a yoke soon and was thinking about maybe getting one. Thanks
 
it just seems like it would work better. But then when I get the driveshaft lengthened, it will probably work fine like it is.
 
Spline engagement length only need to be the diameter.

So if the diameter is 1.32 all you need for spline engaged in the slip is 1.32.

The only reason that slips are longer is because the suspension cycles in and out as it goes up and down, so the ground hub surface remains in the bushing that is usually only 1" long.
