So we picked up a pair of spindles/knuckles, rotors and brackets for a 73 B/E body in Carlisle this past summer for $125.

Guessing we should get brake hoses for said 73 B body?

Same spindle as the F/M/J spindle, so an F/M/J hose will also work.
BUT- this will depend if you're going to front or rear mount the calipers. Factory mounted them to the front; if you mount them to the rear the hose requirement may change in order to get a decent routing with the least amount of interference.

What style calipers/caliper brackets do you have?

The calipers for the '73/74+ B bodies puts the brake hose in a spot it will flat out not work on an A-body. Somewhere I have a picture of the caliper style that doesn't work, it comes straight out of the bottom of the caliper.

We've got the pin type. We dont have the hard lines run yet, so i can put them where they need to be..... What calipers will work with them?

And yes, the steering arm, for lack of a better term, will be replaced with the 73 A body ball joint.

Back in 18-79 I had a 73=74 parts car. And those look just like the 1973-1974 I pulled off that parts car. Had them nay years installed on my 1972 them moved to my 1971. Look at Rockauto 1973 Challenger? they are Pin type not slider

I actually put them in my rockauto cart earlier today. Have not placed the order yet. They show as the line attaching at the bottom....

It looks like the caliper adapters bolted to the knuckle's {spindels} have 2 holes in them to except the pins. what I based my opinion on that they are pin type vs slider type. maybe someone with more info will chime in, but I ran mine for 40 plus years on many cars

So the ones in my cart are 73 Charger and have the hose attached bottom center.

The 73 Challenger shows attached at the lower "corner". So these are the ones I need?

Yes, you need the E-body style calipers. The difference is shown in the picture above. I tried to put a set of the B-body calipers on a buddy's A-body, that location just does not work for the hose. The E-body caliper will work, I believe you will also want the E-body brake hose.

Also, be careful with the online caliper ordering, because this B body caliper came to me as an E-body caliper. I don't think the rebuilders are all that savvy on the different part numbers.

I never had any B Body ones but I know the E late body does not have Banjo Type hoses and >Think the B does have banjo ends on hoses, as well as diff location for hose "other sides"

Mark, if it would make things easier for you I am pretty sure I have a set of slider caliper adapters. If I have them....you can have them! Measure the height of the disc spindles compared to the drum spindles that came off of Fred. I think in 1973, B bodies got the isolated k frames and had a lot taller spindles. A & E body disc brake spindles were the same height starting in 73. I'm at the beach right now, but I can look when I get home.

Appreciate the offer Jackie. We're good with the pin type we have, just wanted to verify and make sure we get the right calipers and hoses.
