74 Duster sail panel install

I'm looking for any tips/tricks to get my plastic sail panels in place on my 74 Duster. I can't seem to get them past the quarter window latches.

Also, is there an upper rear window trim piece that goes on this model? The interior was stripped out when I got the car, so I'm not sure if there is trim on the rear window.

I do not recall any trim above rear glass , just the runner seal of glass , I did not have trouble with sail panels , mine is a 72 , and you might be able to remove the latches if necessary , I installed new latches on my car

Thanks, the 73 and up sails are plastic and it took me two months of searching to find this one - so I was very cautious not to force it. I trimmed a little around where the latch mechanism goes through and got it in place.
