Yup. They had a narrower housing, small bolt pattern axels, and narrower brakes .

All V8 Four speed and V8 three on the tree had them and all of the Formula S cars with 273 HP in 67, 340 in 68 and 69 with 727, all BB cars

Not so on the 67 Formula "S" Cudas. I have an unmolested 67 NB, and it came with a 7 1/4 rear end. I have chnged it over to an 8 3/4. I have also seen other 67 Formula "S" cars wiht & 1/4 from the factory also.
