I have a quick question. I was told by a friend who is an old time Mopar meachanic that V8 cars with AC have a higher stall than stock. He said that an aftermarket stall isn't needed for a mild build up.

Is this so? And if it is, what is it rated at for RPM-the stall?

Thank you, ROB

I have read through many factory service manuals and never seen any different stall ratings for A/C equiped cars.

As far as a high stall being needed for a mild build up. That is basically true if a small cam is used. Also if your engine developes plenty of torque. Now if your running a little 273 in a big B body a loose converter sure would be nice.
