I’ve just reinstalled the original console shifter on my Barracuda, it’s a 318 with a 904 transmission. It’s been leaking a fair bit of ATF recently after being sat for a while which I’m guessing from reading on FABO is likely the TC draining down.
I am going to pick the low hanging fruit first, and replace the shift and throttle shaft seals and also the dipstick O ring, if I’m lucky I might fix the leak, if not replacing them is probably good maintenance.
Because the car is a right hand drive UK car, the trans dipstick is really hard to get to as the brake booster is on that side of the engine bay, so seeing as I’m going to be pulling the dipstick tube anyway to replace the O ring, I thought I might install a longer/ flexible dipstick for better access. Just wondered if anyone has done this and has any thought or recommendations, thanks.

Yes definitely a good modification, I fitted the lokar flexible one the main point to get right is the amount of solid part of the dipstick that actually sits in the fluid, the rest is a twisted cable that fits to the handle with an Allen drive grub screw and this is where you trim the length to get the amount of indicator that sits in the fluid.
The lokar from the Australian suppliers did not come with any instructions at all
