Hello, I've been looking into the whole 360 swap thing. I have been doing some reading and searching (I really have). and it does seem as though the 90's motors are pretty good, but as far as what I read, then you have to deal with the ECU, and Fuel injection. The whole thing seems a little more complicated then I wanted to mess with. I did read that you can covert the Fuel Injection with a 4 bbl (but how?), but what about the ECU, can that be bypassed for a simpler swap. I have a while before I do this, I'm just looking for direction. If someone could post a link of something I have not read, I would appreciated that as well.
Thanks much!

You can take all the fuel injection stuff off, buy a 4bbl intake, replace the front cover with an LA style to run a mechanical fuel pump and you're good to go. The blocks are basically the same as the older LA's with the exception of a mount for a crank position sensor on the rear and an extra set of motor mounts for the truck applications. The magnums were never used in pass cars but still retain the older style mounting ears. The intakes you will find for the magnums will have vertical bolts rather than splayed for the LA's. They are also all equipped with roller cams. Like I said in an earlier post, I'm using a 95 5.9 for my 408 build.

Like 71Dart said the Magnums are carb friendly. The roller cam is shorter in the front,Hughes makes a adapter for the mechanical fuel pump. And use the LA front cover. The balancing is different between the LA and Magnums, but there are flex plates and flywheels for this. All of this can be overwhelming at first but your at the best forums on the net. IMO

You Bet! Buy an AMERICAN made intake. The mopar m1 is good as is the edelbrock air gap.
Hate to sound like a commercial but some have had negative experiences with the chinese made crosswind.

Im personally not a fan of any chinese product.

Not needed with a carb system. ECU controls the injectors/timing/etc in place of the carb.
What is your plan with this build? As for me I went with Magnum for the EFI,roller cam setup, serp belt.Even though could have done the same with LA series engine. OG

What about the ECU then??

No need to worry about it if you go to carb. Simply run msd,fbo or mopar performance ignition.

I wouldn't know where to start as far as the original fi units go. Somone else has done it here I think.
