Anyone have any specs for the "upgrade" to install bushings in the aluminum case of the a833od?, what alloy are they made from? I have the case stripped apart the counter shaft holes are not worn but thought I have gone this far so I should do this?, I will get a machine shop to do the line bore and install, but do you manufacture these or purchase them?

Thanks, I did actually read that before, just wondered if there was pre-fab ones, but the instructions are clear enough and suggest using steel to manufacture the bushings rather than bronze, off to the machine shop I go!

Ok, I have been to two machine shops now both want 4 hours labour plus materials to do this job so with tax that's about 500 bucks, who has had this done and how much have you paid?, I spoke with one trans shop that works on these and they say don't bother at it is more likely to weaken the trans than help?

Well, I have not done this......... yet. But here's my thinking FWIW.

I highly doubt that. IMO, The bushing will tend to disperse load over a broader area I believe whereas just the shaft on the aluminum will tend to beat a smaller area.

I think the major part of this is getting the case holes in the precise location so it all fits and works correctly. If you're working with worn out bosses from the shaft, the locations will need to be regenerated. Setup time is money but you want them right.
As far as the bushings by themselves I'm thinking someone you know (or they know) may have a lathe that may cost you less or even just a favor or two. You might also take a look at drill guide bushings that you may be able to modify into the proper size bushing.

Good Luck, if it's impossible it just takes longer.
